Thiruvananthapuram
: Asian School of Business played host to eminent
policy makers, industrialists and business leaders who came together
this week to discuss and analyse the impact of the Union Budget.
The post-Budget analysis was jointly organised by KPMG, Asian School of Business and the Confederation of Indian Industry.
The KPMG team made a detailed presentation on the impact of direct taxes, indirect taxes and transfer pricing on Kerala.
This
was followed by a panel discussion with G Vijayaraghavan, Member, State
Planning Board, as the moderator. V K Mathews, chairman, IBS; Thomas
John Muthoot, managing director, Muthoot; and Dr M I Sahadulla,
chairman, KIMS, participated as panel members.
The panellists
spoke about the impact of the Union Budget in their respective sectors
and expressed their concern on issues that were not addressed in the
Budget. Industrialists, management professionals, academicians and
practicing managers took part in the question-answer session, along with
the KPMG team.
